Can someone help me figure out why my downloads are timing out.

Hello I am currently running Windows 7 on a Gateway NV53 and for some reason my downloads keep timing out.  They start out ok but eventually they stop after about 1 minute or so.  I have tried on IE, Mozilla, and Chrome and none work.  I have pinged my
network and outside my network and thats fine and I ran my anti-virus and anti-spyware and nothing came up.  I'm not sure what else to do, Is there anyone who might have any good idea's?  Any help is really appreciated.

• Troubleshooter window for Windows update will pop up. Click on NEXT. It may ask you for administrative permission.
• The troubleshooter will automatically detect problems and fix it.
• Now, close this window and try download/install the app which was previously showing error.
