cannot back up my computer with a new IOMEGA external hard drive.

Purchased a new IOMEGA external hard drive to back up my files on my new computer.
 
Also received Norton Ghost as a 'bonus'.  Installed Norton Ghost as it is supposed to allow me to recover 'everything, exactly as it was'.   Then tried to back up to my external hard drive and it will not complete the back up  Gets about 70-80% through then
stops with a message that it did not complete back up.

Also after installing Ghost did you run LIve Update two times to get both Serice Pack 1 for Ghost and a minor update?
