Hi,
 
I have a similar problem to the ‘Jumping cursor problem using Windows 7’, but reinstalling my mouse driver has not helped.
 
I have an ASUS A54C laptop, running Windows 7 and with an external Logitech keyboard and mouse, both going through a powered Logik USB hub (as there are only 2 USB ports on the laptop).
 
When I’m typing in an active window, i.e.
a Word doc or email, after a few seconds of not typing, I return to typing, but the active window is no longer selected, so no text appears.
I have to click on the area where I was previously typing to be able
to continue.
It seems like the cursor ‘disappears’ from the active window - or the 'active' window becomes 'inactive'.
I have definitely not pressed anything to select another window in the meantime.
This happens with all kinds of programs, web browsers, etc.
 
It has been running perfectly well until this past week or so.
Strangely enough, this problem has coincided with me starting to use a TP-LINK 300Mbps high gain wireless USB adapter (plugged into the other USB port).
I wonder if this is related.

This is extremely frustrating.
