auto-filling data from one sheet to another using data validation drop down list
Hello friends,
I need to print JVs (based on data exported from Quickbooks) on a JV template i made in excel.
I have used data validation and v-lookup formula to create a drop-down list on the JV Template.
When i click a txn in the list the rest ** the fields are auto-filled.
See attachments.
The problem is i cannot get all the values and names on the JV template by selecting a Txn from the drop down list.
It does work if the data is contained within a single row.
But here a single trans# is using more than one row.
eg.
trans# 183 uses rows 8-10.
while data from row 8 is recognized and auto filled (using vlookup) but not from the rest of the rows.
Kindly help me.
In short i want all the data in say Trans# 183 to appear on the JV template by a single click (using a drop down list i created).

I got through your new sample workbook and changed the formulas to suit.
The 903 transaction was the only one with more than two values but I have the formulas set to look at 30,000 rows and up to seven rows.
The range of rows has to be the same as in ROW(1:30000)
is the same number of rows as B1:B30000.
If you insert rows into the table in the JVL sheet, it may change only some of the references; e.g. B1:B30001 but leave ROW(1:30000) alone.
If so, you will have to manually fix the formulas.
All of the formulas on the JV sheets are standard.
They do not require Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
There is some custom number formatting like before.
As mentioned, you will need to find a better method of generating a transaction number list if you are going to use 30K rows of data.
I suggest a macro that will copy for unique and sort.
