Atheros AR9285 on Toshiba Satellite C655 w/ Windows 7 keeps disconnecting randomly. How do I fix this extremely annoying problem?
I've had my Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082 laptop since Christmas, and it has consistently been disconnecting from any network I connect to at random times. This is extremely annoying. It has an Atheros AR9285 WiFi adapter and is running Windows 7. Sometimes
I'm connected for over an hour before it disconnects; sometimes only for seconds! The only solutions I've found are to reset the adapter (disable/enable), reset the internet connection if I'm at home (power off/power on both the router or modem), or restart
my computer. These are only temporary solutions and they don't get rid of this problem altogether. This is unacceptable. I'm ready to throw my laptop at the wall. Please help!

Hi
Maybe this can Help.
Assuming that the signal is strong, and that there is No electrical environmental noise (http://www.ezlan.net/wbars.html ).
Uncheck the Network Card's Power Saving (I.e., do not let the card save power).
There might be some variations on where the Power saving setting is.
Here are few examples, YMMV, look around in your systems.
