Troubleshooting:After upgrading to Windows 7 performance got slower and freezes frequently. Error

After upgrading to Windows 7 performance got slower and freezes frequently.

When I use Google Earth on windows 7 it always freezes.
Once it happens, I have to turn the computer off physically.
Then, it takes more than 5 minutes to complete restart.
So I uninstalled Google Earth.
Same thing happened with Internet Explorer.
Once
it freezes I have to turn the computer off physically.

I'm using HP Laser printer P1006.
It doesn't work.
but I figured out that HP will upgrade the driver by the end of November.
I am using Epson color printer now.

Because everybody praises windows 7, I feel like I'm dumb alone.
I use windows 7 on my hp laptop, which has AMD Turion X2 64.
But I understood that this is 32 bit, not 64.
Memory is 3 GB. 

Please let me know what's wrong.
Maybe I should have listened to my daughter, who said to wait until people would have gone through all the minor issues...

Method 1:
I suggest that you boot the computer in safe mode and check if you are able to login without any issues, safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers.
Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers
needed to start Windows are installed, follow the steps to boot the computer in safe mode:
1.     Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2.     Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3.     Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
4.     Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5.     Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
6.     You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7.     You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8.     Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.
Start your computer in safe mode

if the performance in safe mode is good then perform a clean boot to see if any 3rd party services are causing the problem.
               
Method 2:
If the above methods do not resolve the issue you can try to disable and check if there are any third party services interfering.
To do these perform the clean boot.
To perform a clean boot follow the below mentioned steps:
                1.           
Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights.

                2.           
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
                3.           
On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box.
(The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)
                4.           
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
                5.           
Click OK, and then click Restart.

Check if the issue is resolved.
If the issue is resolved check which third party is causing the 
problem by following a step by step procedure, referring the link given below:

Try to find exactly which third party program is causing the issue and then disable it.
 After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
1.            Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2.            On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.
3.            When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
Method 3:
1.            Click on Start
2.            Click on con All programs
3.            Click on Accessories
4.            Click on System tools
5.            Click on Disk cleanup.

Method 4
1.            Click Start , and then type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box.
2.            Click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons).
Internet Explorer opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
3.            Try to use your Webmail again to see whether it works correctly.

Method 5:
1.            Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
2.            Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
3.            Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4.            Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5.            Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and In Private Filtering data.
6.            In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
7.            When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, and then click OK.
8.            Close Internet Explorer.
Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.

If you failed to fix it, another option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial "1-800-936-5700". Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
