Solution to Error: After upgrading to IE8, receive a BAD POOL HEADER 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, 0x0000C35D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) stop error when trying to boot XP...

After upgrading to IE8, receive a BAD POOL HEADER 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, 0x0000C35D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) stop error when trying to boot XP...

I decided to try IE8, so downloaded the update and let it run.
After it ran it requested to reboot, so I let it but I received BAD POOL HEADER 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, 0x0000C35D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) error when it restarted and the system continues
to give me that error everytime I reboot.
I am unable to get to the safemode to make any changes (it crashes to the BAD POOL HEADER error).
I have also tried using my XP install disks to both recover the XP install or to simply reinstall XP, and while both
options start properly, they end in the above failure when it tries to being the install/repair.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
